The IT System Administrator SME will support the C2BMC program and will be responsible for operating, maintaining, and managing Windows/Linux-based domain supporting a software development environment.

The Work You’ll Do
Operate, maintain, and manage Windows/Linux based domain supporting a software development environment. Responsible for the overall day-to-day operations of the Windows/Linux environment and responsible for backup and recovery (to include disaster recovery) of system data. Primary Responsibilities Include:
- Ensure all data is being backed up per COOP and BCP
- Ensure backup system is functioning correctly and periodically test the backup system by restoring files
- Respond appropriately to any security or virus incident discovered in the system
- Install, configure, monitor, manage and maintain all Windows/Linux based servers
- Create and maintain Windows/Linux system administration processes and procedures
- Install, configure, manage and maintain all Windows/Linux server based applications
- Ensure all Windows/Linux based systems have the appropriate patches installed – includes but is not limited to, security, applications and OS
- Ensure all Windows/Linux based systems are running current versions of antivirus software with current virus definition files
- Create, manage and maintain group policy objects, security groups, user accounts
- Monitor, manage and maintain storage systems and devices
- Recommend system enhancements, including but not limited to, servers, applications, storage, processes and procedures
- Recommend when additional system resources are required or when existing resources should be retired
- Ensure all appropriate asset management functions are completed as required
- All other tasks as assigned by the IT site lead or IT manager Secondary Responsibilities
- Assist the help desk respond to end users requests/issues
What You’ll Bring
- Bachelor’s degree with 9+ years’ experience, or Masters’ degree with 7+ years’ experience, or equivalent
- Active Secret clearance required to start
- Senior Windows Domain experience
- Windows and Linux system administration
- System Security Implementations
- Network Attached Storage administration
- IBM Server Backup administration
- Technical skills supporting a Windows environment including server setup, deployment, maintenance, and hardening
- Must also have a background/knowledge of Linux environment and administration
- Must have working knowledge of Agile principles and practices
- Understanding of configuration managed Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS)
- Understanding of what IT’s role is in Continuous Integration and Delivery (CI/CD) and how it can be applied to PaaS
- Knowledge with applying containers (Docker) and use of container orchestration (Kubernetes)
Preferred
- Knowledge of the following: Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs), Multi-Factor Authentication implementation, OpenShift, OpenStack, VMware ESXI, QAS/VAS, Windows, Active Directory, Backup and Recovery, Containers and Container Orchestration products
- Knowledge of Git, Nexus, Jenkins, Jira and Confluence
- Understand the concept of PaaS and SaaS
- Knowledge of Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) and how it applies to IT and IT products
Salary Range: $120,000-$163,000
