CORA Practice Lead, Project Manager

As the CORA Program Manager for SecureStrux, Jeff ensures SecureStrux cybersecurity assessments exceed client expectations, both within the Department of Defense (DoD) and the various commercial sectors we support. Jeff’s six years as a Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) civilian prepared him for his current role. During his time as DISA civilian he served as a Combatant Command (COCOM) CCRI and C&A Team Lead and as a Computer Network Defense (CND) Evaluation Team Lead.

Jeff brings nearly 30 years of security-focused experience to SecureStrux and has worked in a variety of industries, including the military, commercial, and federal government sectors. Prior to working with SecureStrux, Jeff worked for ManTech, Tapestry Technologies, the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA), Celerity, Versatile Solutions (formerly Perfect Order), ICSA Labs and Fry Communications. He has conducted hundreds of cyber assessments around the globe and is considered a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in securing Unix, DNS, Web, Network, Cross Domain Solution (CDS), and Database technologies, and the Risk Management Framework (RMF).

In addition to performing cyber assessments for the DoD, he has also developed and taught DISA’S RMF Steps 3 & 4 and Defense Cyber Workforce Framework (DCWF) Linux System Administrator Linux, Vulnerability Assessment Analyst courses, as well as taught the Linux, Network review courses to various DoD components on behalf of DISA and USCYBERCOM.

Jeff is constantly looking for ways to automate security operations through scripting in BASH, PERL, PowerShell and Python.

Jeff currently holds the Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), and Security+ certifications, and has earned nearly/more than a dozen industry-recognized technical credentials over the course of his career. He also holds a B.A. from Messiah College and proudly served as a paratrooper in the U.S. Army.
