As Director of IT Support and Cybersecurity Analyst for SecureStrux, Sean Pebley provides cybersecurity assessments and engineering for both customers within the Department of Defense (DoD) and the commercial sector. Sean currently provides Assessment and Authorization (A&A) services and Command Cyber Readiness Inspections (CCRIs) Staff Assistance Visits (SAVs) to a wide-range of SecureStrux customers.
Prior to coming to SecureStrux, Mr. Pebley provided Windows, database, web, Host Based Security System (HBSS), and application security assessments for the Defense Information Security Agency (DISA). During this time, Sean also instructed DISA Security Readiness Review (SRR) courses as a part of DoDIN Readiness and Security Inspections (DRSI) Reviewer Certification Program (RCP). This training was delivered world-wide to a variety of DoD customers which taught students how to assess and secure a diverse range of CCRI and A&A technologies with a focus on the implementation of the DoD’s Security Implementation Guides (STIGs).
Sean brings almost a decade of cyber compliance and vulnerability assessment experience to SecureStrux. Prior to joining the team, Sean proudly served in the US Navy from which he retired in 2008.
During his 24 year naval career, he worked and studied in the Meteorology and Oceanography fields. As Chief of Operations at the weather station in Keflavik Iceland, he managed and lead a team of 20 sailors that provided weather and oceanography support to aircraft commanders and submarine hunters. Other tours of duty include Naples Italy, Rota Spain, and Submarine Base Groton Connecticut. His last tour of duty was at the National Security Agency (NSA), Fort Meade where he worked as a Weather Intelligence Analyst.
Sean currently holds a Security+ certification from CompTia. He has earned an Associate of Science in Cyber Security from Harrisburg Area Community College.
