Leading ladies of cyber are coming together from all over the United States at the National Spy Museum in Washington, DC on October 18th, and SecureStrux will be there with pride! Now in it’s fifth year, the CyberWire‘s Women in Cyber Security Reception aims to recognize and celebrate the tremendous contributions and achievement of women within the cybersecurity industry. The event is poised to create connections and foster engagement that will further strengthen professional and personal networks vital to establishing a more secure state for our families around the world.
Managing Partner Sienna Crawford believes that businesses can be doing a lot to address building the ranks of women in the cyber industry. Supporting the Women in Cyber Security initiative with the CyberWire is just one way that she and SecureStrux are working towards the goal. “I want to encourage women to stay on the path that most interests them, even if it’s the NOT the path of least resistance,” says Sienna.
Listen to SecureStrux’s Senior Lead Compliance Analyst, Michelle Maitland, discuss RMF on the CyberWire.
SecureStrux is made up of almost 40% highly-qualified, dedicated, professional women. When it comes down to it, however, Sienna believes that team cohesiveness is the way to get through everyday barriers. The company encourages young people to pursue cyber-related careers by offering internships to high school and college students, as well as working out flexible part-time work schedules so employees can attend to their families. Serving as role models, many SecureStrux employees speak in public about their work and engage with youth as a way to further promote opportunities in cyber.
Joining Sienna at the Women in Cyber Security Reception on October 18th will be SecureStrux cyber experts Michelle Maitland and Deeanna Martin. Lindsey Rose, Marketing Intern, will also be in attendance. Follow the conversation #CyberWomenConnect!
