Cyber Threat Analyst/Jira SME

SecureStrux is actively seeking a seasoned Cyber Threat Analyst/Jira SME with expertise in Department of Defense (DoD) Cyber Operations and a current, active Secret (or higher) Clearance (note: TS/SCI preferred). Your role will involve monitoring cyber threats and effectively liaising with senior government and military leadership. Your deep understanding of advanced cyber tactics, strategies, and incidents will be instrumental in enhancing our client’s cybersecurity defenses and operational effectiveness.

Location:

• Hybrid – between client site in Linthicum, MD, and your home office.
• Must be local to the Baltimore/Washington DC metro area.

What You’ll Bring (must-haves):

• Security Clearance: Active Secret (or higher) clearance required, active TS/SCI clearance preferred.
• Software Proficiency: Jira Subject Matter Expert (SME) required.
• Education and Years of Experience: BS 5-8, MS 3-5, PhD 0+
• Cyber Knowledge: Proficient in Mitre ATT&CK and Cyber Kill Chain; understands Advanced Persistent Threats (APTs) and Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures (TTPs); familiar with phishing and ransomware incidents.
• Key Competencies: Comprehensive expertise in Department of Defense Cyber Operations, adept communication with senior government or military leadership, outstanding verbal and written skills, and a proven ability to work independently with meticulous attention to detail.
• On-Site Requirement: Initially, daily presence until fully trained; thereafter, a minimum of two days per week, with potential for more based on operational needs.

The Work You’ll Do:

• Craft and peer-review cyber reports, enhancing collaboration with Defense Industrial Base partners.
• Manage, optimize, and enhance Jira ticketing, elevating the user and service management experience.
• Seamlessly integrate automation in daily operations, Jira, and Confluence, making processes efficient and user-friendly.
• Dive deep into threat data analysis, utilizing both open and closed-source tools to uncover indicators of compromise.
• Engage proactively with DIB partners and customers, ensuring timely and insightful communications on cyber reports and incidents.
